F4U Corsair Polo


One of the greatest fighter aircrafts of all time, the American Vought F4U ‘’Corsair’’ became the stuff of legends during the World War 2. Being one of the most powerful airplanes of the war it earned respect of the enemies and saw a fear shear of aces scoring their biggest successes with it. And no one is more famous for flying this beauty than Gregory Boyington, more famous under his call-sign and nickname ‘’Pappy’’. He scored 26 kills before becoming a POW in 1944. Shortly after his return to the U.S., as a lieutenant colonel, Boyington received the Medal of Honor and to this day he is considered one of the best pilots of the war. His squadron VMA-214 is the probably the most famous one in the whole history of aviation, especially under their nickname Blacksheeps. This polo is designed in honor of this great man and awesome airplane he and the pilots under his command flew and is a must have item for all of you WW2 plane enthusiasts out there.
